About the Artist
As a self-taught painter I work in acrylics and water colours. Having lived in different places in Canada, Vancouver, Ottawa and Calgary, Fernie BC is now my home.
Winslow Homer was the first artist that inspired me with his fresh carefree style, painting people in their environment working and playing. Other inspiration came from John Singer Sargent, and John Turner. Living in the Kootenays of Eastern BC, near the Alberta border I'm surrounded by mountains, pathways, rivers, skies and lakes. Here there is endless inspiration for me to paint and try to capture this wild beauty and people and animals at home there. Seeing the hand and mind of a creative God, I sense a dance, a rhythm, a playfulness that inspires me.
In addition to landscapes, I've been painting portraits of people, animals and even houses and boats, since 2003. Photo references of subjects are what I use for commissions. Please contact me by email or visit my Instagram and facebook page for more information and prices.
